The Global War for Talent – Perhaps Not the Case at the C Level?

Today in The Age there is an interesting article ‘Australia Neutral in Global Talent War‘ where research shows that most C level executives don’t leave our shores. The majority of them (70%) exit via retirement or being shown the door!

This article highlights the trend at the top. However, I suspect that the brain drain and talent that leaves our shores are younger generations, which is perhaps what the country needs to focus on retaining for the future.

What are your views on the brain drain and global talent shortage; is it reality or myth?

Talent shortages among skilled professional workers are spreading across the world, leaving gaps in many organisations and forcing employers to pay higher salaries and that is the reality we have to face. Highly qualified talents will go and seek greener pasture.
