Are Bloggers an Untapped Source of Talent?

peopleBloggers and blogging are great because they are actively out there creating wonderful content (often for no income) about topics they are passionate about. They deliver readers alternative information and perspectives to what you find in mainstream media. All this aside, bloggers offer a great source of untapped talent. Why? you ask.

  • They are passionate and often write about areas or niches in which they have a vast knowledge base and direct and current expertise
  • They are well networked in their niche, as evidenced by who they are linked to, who is on their blogroll, who is linking to them and so on
  • If they are regular bloggers they demonstrate commitment, which can be a rare thing these days. They can communicate information, ideas and concepts, plus you have tangible evidence of it as you read their blog
  • Not only can they communicate via the written word, often you will also see examples of their analytical skills

When you receive a resume and they have a blog link, open it and view it as an additional recruitment selection tool. Alternatively, research and follow bloggers who may be relevant for your business.

Members on Six Figures can include links in their member profiles to their blogs, websites, etc. to give you the hirer a greater understanding of their expertise and value they bring.

So if you are looking to hire committed, passionate people, with great analytical skills and writing skills within a particular profession or niche – look no further than a blogger.
