Do We Really Need Recruitment Agencies?

What benefits do recruitment agencies provide? With the advent of online job-sites can’t you do the job yourself and save a fortune on agency commissions.

bnetIn today’s BTalk Australia Phil Dobbie talks to Kelly Magowan, co-founder of Six Figures, the Premium Job Site for $100K+ Jobs.  She says agencies still have a role to play although the shortfalls often relate to the relationship between the agency and the recruiter. Phil suggests a better way of structuring the way agencies and clients work together.

    Good podcast Kelly.

I thought your readers might be interested in a blog post that I wrote last year entitled ‘Using recruitment companies – the right way and the wrong way’. It provides a blueprint for successfully engaging recruitment companies. I’m interested in comments.

Great podcast and great to hear that both sides of the world are thinking on the same wave length. A good recruitment agency will be an invaluable partner to any hiring company and they will be able to streamline the recruitment process and incorporate online recruitment tools, reduce recruitment costs and add real value. The changing market and developing online recruitment tools will certainly demand a more flexible approach to the traditional recruitment agency
